Three Barcelona youngsters to watch this season

Barcelona have a long and successful history of developing young talent and turning them into world beaters.

From Lionel Messi to Xavi Hernandez, the production line just keeps on churning out world class players.

Here, we take a look at three of the young talents to keep an eye on at the Nou Camp this season…

Denis Suarez

The Galician born midfielder has a testing role in replacing Andres Iniesta, but that is why the Catalan club brought the former Barcelona player back to the East coast after an impressive spell at Villarreal.

In his Barcelona La Liga debut, the smooth 22-year-old showed fans his quality and calmness with a near faultless display against Real Betis.

Suarez’s years of playing with Barca B looks to have paid dividends, as during pre-season the Spaniard slotted straight in – showing great understanding with Leo Messi.

Against Betis, Suarez lined up on the left side of central midfield, and read the game perfectly, giving the team rhythm and combined superbly with the front three, in particular Arda Turan.

Samuel Umtiti

After impressing during the Euros, Samuel Umtiti made his way to Barcelona to form a formidable partnership with Gerard Pique.

The France international has shown great passing and dribbling qualities associated with a Barca defender, but also possesses the physical attributes to dominate.

Against Betis, 22-year-old Umtiti looked at home and like he’d been there for years and looked strong with Pique beside him.

This should bring to an end Barca’s search for a reliable centre back pairing and see the Catalan club journey deep into the Champions League.

Munir El Haddadi

After arriving at the club in 2014, Munir has had a stop start career thus far and if he is to make the grade at Barca, will need to step up this term in La Liga. For everything Spanish football be sure to check out Betway, featuring great odds on Barcelona winning the league and Champions League.

Like most Barcelona youngsters, the 20-year-old possesses strong passing skills, but needs to improve his finishing and link up play to fit into Luis Enrique’s outfit.

Noted for his composure on the ball, tricks and speed, the opportunities in the side must be grabbed with both hands if he hopes to remain at the club.
