  • Messi is unbeatable

The way Lionel Messi has been playing recently in the games against Zaragoza and Sevilla and in the champions league games he's able to decide matches on is own.

I have made collection of some of the best of Messi's goals recently:

    Barça-Zaragoza 1-0
Lots of dribling and a brilliant goal:

    Barça-Zaragoza 2-0
With almost no space Messi gets the shot in and scores

Barcelona - Lyon 2-0 A very well played attack with a superb finish by Messi:

    Barcelona - Bayern Munchen

Unfortunately none of the Sevilla goals are available any longer because tv rights issues, so instead we remember Messi's supergoal that was comparable to one of Maradonas greatest:

  • Who should play alongside Puyol in the Barca defence?

Who do you think should start in the centre of defence for the next game against Zaragoza. Captain Carles Puyol is set to return from injury and is guaranteed a place but who do you think should play alongside him - ex- Zaragoza star Gabriel Milito or the ever reliable no-nonsense Oleguer Presas?

For me Oleguer is a committed player who is ready to give his all but is limited in terms of pace etc. Milito though is a top class defender andI reckon the obvious choice. Other alternatives would be Thuram but I think he is well passed his best, and Marquez but he is not playing his best football.

  • Ready for the big stage?

Barcelona reached the final of the Catalunya Cup with a side mainly made of youth players and it will now be only a question of time before they are competing for a place in the first team.

The youngsters were given the stage to show-case their talent and they let no one down with a 3-2 win over Girona. The side featured only five first-team regulars who played alongside Corcoles, Crosas, Dimas, Xavi Torres, Emilio Guerra and Jeffren.

Later they were joined by two 16-year-olds who are set to follow in the footsteps of Mesi and Giovani, Thiago and Gai Assulin.

How good do you think these youngsters are? I reckon Gai Assulin is definitely one for the future and will hit the big time sooner rather than later. The big question though is how Rijkaard will find space for them
