Director Raul Sanllehi has travelled to Brazil in order to close the signing of striker Neymar from Santos with Barcelona having been forced to speed up the process with interest from Real Madrid.

Barca have a pre-contract deal worth ten million euros which was signed in 2011 but now Madrid are looking to destabilise the transfer.

Barca president met with Santos vice-president  Odilo Rodrigues last week to discuss Neymar and so missed the high-profile basketball clash between Barcelona and Real Madrid in London.

The main stumbling block is as usual the price with Santos asking for 50m euros but they only have 55 per cent of the rights for the player and so in theory the price could double especially with the Madrid press claiming that Real are prepared to pay 100m for him.
